New in Vendetta

Three Mechanics, Two New Patterns

Flow, Burn, and Empower are the headline mechanics. Decrees are a six-spell cycle, while Unit-Gear is a new multi-type card.

Flow

Pay a spell's Flow cost to play it from your trash. After it resolves, banish it instead of returning it to the trash.

Burn

Move the top X cards of a Main Deck to its trash. That can fuel Flow, but overdoing it brings deck-out closer.

Empower

Put a card into the empowered state. It stays empowered until it leaves play or an effect disempowers it.

Decrees

A six-spell cycle, one for each Domain, built to punish strategies from that Domain's opposite.

Unit-Gear

Riftbound's first multi-type card counts as both a unit and gear wherever a card or rule checks its type.

The roster

Nine Rival Legends

Vendetta trims the legend count from twelve to nine and builds the set around head-to-head rivalries.

Two Official, Launch-Legal Vendetta Decks

These are Riot's exact Shen and Zed Showdown lists—not speculative brews. Both contain 40 Main Deck cards, 12 runes, three uniquely named battlefields, and no card on the July 24 Standard ban list. Before tournament registration, designate one of the included matching Champion Units as Chosen; it is already inside the 40. Copy either list in builder-ready format.

Zed — Official Vendetta Showdown Deck

Fury / Chaos · Flow pressure

Seed the trash with Burn and discard, turn banished cards into Legend value, then convert Shadow Clones and ready effects into repeat battlefield pressure.

Chosen Champion: designate one included Zed option at registration (Zed, From the Shadows; Zed, Without a Sound). It remains part of the 40-card Main Deck—do not add card 41.

Pilot plan

  • Mulligan for a two-cost unit plus a clean discard or movement line.
  • Treat the trash as a resource: keep a unit available to fuel each Shadow Clone attack.
  • Use Perfect Execution and Twilight Step on scoring turns, not simply because they are available.

Chosen Champion: designate one included Shen option at registration (Shen, Leader of the Kinkou Order; Shen, Scourge of Shadows; Shen, Kinkou). It remains part of the 40-card Main Deck—do not add card 41.

Pilot plan

  • Develop in pairs; Shen's best cards reward exactly two friendly units at a battlefield.
  • Hold Hidden cards until combat math or a scoring window makes the zero-Energy reaction matter.
  • Use the current Resonating Strike errata: it is a Reaction at any time, not only on your turn or in showdowns.

“Launch-legal” means the published list passes current deck-construction and ban-list checks. It is not a claim that an unopened preconstructed deck is already optimized for the post-release tournament metagame. Vendetta enters Standard on its official regional product date: July 31 for English and Chinese regions, and October 23 for French regions. The July 24 Pre-Rift window is Sealed play.
